My top 3 health tips

1. Do Coconut Oil Pulling
For Whiter Teeth & Healthy Aural Hygiene

Coconut oil has so many great health benefits for you body. I use it on my skin, in my food, and I also clean my teeth with this amazing product. You can also use it as a natural make-up remover.
So back to my teeth. I coconut oil pull every day. You may be wondering what exactly this is. Oil pulling is basically rinsing oil (I like to use unrefined coconut oil) though your mouth for around ten minutes. I sometimes do this for half an hour.
When you're done, make sure to spit the oil out into your compost or bin and not the sink, because it isn't very good for your drains. Then just brush your teeth as usual.
Oil pulling is a great natural teeth whitener and works wonders for your overall aural health.

2. stay hydrated

It is easy to forget to drink water throughout the day, especially during winter. Our bodies need over 2 liters of water daily, so drink up!
If you don't get enough water into you, than a lot of problems can arise. Some of these issues include; decreased ability to absorb nutrients from poorly digested foods, dehydration affects your kidneys, can create chronic constipation which causes retention of toxins in your body's tissues, and dehydration also causes the feeling of fatigue, tiredness and lethargy.
You may be wondering ways to drink more water, so here are some of my tips:
-Have water frequently throughout the day, and try not to drink during a meal.
-If you don't like the taste of water, which I don't really understand why this is now a common problem, then you could flavour your water with cut up fruits like strawberries, apple, kiwifruit, lemon, and a handful of mint.
Another way to get around the issue is to get used to the taste. I believe that the more you eat or drink something, the more your body will normalize it, and maybe your taste buds will enjoy it too.
-Also cut down on caffeinated and sugared drinks because these actually dehydrate your body.
-Fill up a water bottle and bring it everywhere with you.
-My last tip for drinking more water is to have reminders. You could set alarms on your phone or write out reminders to drink water on sticky notes, that you leave in places you'll probably go during the day, like your car, the fridge and the bathroom mirror.

3. eating Healthy

Nourishing your body can be simple. This is my short guide to becoming healthier.

Take a look at your current diet. Do you eat take away, fast foods and packaged products regularly? Well you could start by cutting out these highly processed foods, because the intake of these is causing your body havoc. The majority of processed foods are packed full of sugars, preservatives, unhealthy fats, loads of unneeded calories, and are high in artificial flavour enhancers.

I would suggest pre-preparing your meals if you are too busy to make them during the week. Even if this isn't the case, it is better to choose to make healthy homemade versions of your usual shop bought goods and try out some new recipes.

Fresh wholesome foods are best, like fruit and vegetables. It is essential for your body to obtain enough vitamins and minerals, so EAT THE RAINBOW. Nourish your body with a variety of fresh produce, nuts and seeds. It all comes down to balance. Try to avoid wheat and caffeine, as they strip iron out of your body and are converted into unhealthy sugars when consumed.

I personally have chosen to be vegan. If you would like to find out about my reasons for this incredible lifestyle then click the About Me section at the top of this page.

So another tip is to consume spirulina on a daily bases. This incredible algae is super good for you. It is rich in iron, manganese and chromium and conatins vitamins A, K1, K2, B12, and has more beta-carotene than carrots to have do.

I would recommend to have at least 1-2 tsp of spirulina powder daily. I like to mix it into a jar of homemade orange juice or water, or have it in a smoothie.

Naturally preserved vegetables like sauerkraut, pickled onions and pickled veggies are great for promoting gut health.

Another amazing pro-biotic is kombucha. You've probably heard of it before as it has become quite trendy over the past couple of years. It is a fermented tea drink made from the kombucha mushroom. my dad used to make it himself when I was younger, and it has helped to increase my immune system and my health.

You can find so many delicious varieties of kombucha in shops and cafes. I really like the Rosehip and Hibiscus flavoured kombucha from Alkomy kombucha, which you can find at the Margaret river Farmers Markets on Saturday mornings.

I hope you have learned a few new tips from my health advice. I am still learning myself about healthy living and will continue to educate myself through my experiences. These tips are my opinions and things that I have learned through research and my life.
