Be Kind to Yourself
The three core ideas that I value are VULNERABILITY, SENSUALITY, & SELF AWARENESS. It takes having a strong sense of self to notice my own downfalls and change them. Being self aware means that I go inward to look at what needs improvement and to find the solution. I go inward to reassess and reevaluate my own thought patterns and create new ways of thinking. I set myself up for a momentum of new and improved perspectives. I do the inner work so that I can feel peaceful in my daily life and establish healthy connections with others. The more love and compassion I give myself the more it flows easily and fluidly from my hands to the outside world.
So in saying all of this, I wanted to share something that’s been ticking over on my mind. Self love isn’t something that we ever achieve. We are going to be constantly learning about it. The more conscious we become of the way we think about and treat ourselves the quicker we can become kinder to ourselves instead of beating ourselves up over not being a certain way. We’re not going to experience self love in the most ideal way or the the way it’s presented to us. We create our own way of loving one’s self and it’s not always beautiful. Part of this journey we must face our fears, insecurities, imperfections, and shadow side. The journey can be brutal at times. It can be raw and vulnerable as fuck. It’s a roller coaster of a ride that we never get off. Once you obtain this awareness you no longer feel ashamed or guilty for not being a perfect lover to yourself. No one is perfect, and being in love with yourself doesn’t change that. Be kind to yourself and be patient. You choose what type of talk goes on up in your head. You choose how much respect you treat yourself with. You choose whether you accept yourself or not. You’re journey is beautiful and messy. It’s your choice to embrace and embody this vulnerability or not. It’s intimidating looking into your own reflection sometimes when you don’t feel like you’re beautiful, but the more you look over the angelic skin of your body and the longer you gaze into your own eyes, you will see only beauty smiling back at you.
That’s why I’m sharing this post, that’s why I took these messy haired, topless photos of myself this morning. I choose to be vulnerable so that I can inspire you to be strong.
