Want to spice up your boring old porridge recipe? Turn your basic sloppy oatmeal into a delicious, colourful breakfast.
How to make apple cinnamon porridge:
1. Chuck a cup of rolled oats into a saucepan and cover them with at least 2 cups of water and 1 cup of almond milk (or preferred plant milk).
2. Dice or grate an apple and add it to the pot too.
3. Click your stove onto medium-high heat. Mix in a tbsp of ground cinnamon. Leave the oats to cook for 5 minutes, then turn the heat down to low and continue to mix until the porridge is thick and all the liquid has been absorbed.
4. Scoop some of the porridge into your bowl and slice up a few strawberries and a banana. Put the fruit on top of your porridge, along with some cherries (I used frozen), cocoa nibs, buckwheat groats, and if you want some extra sweetness, add a couple of pieces of dairy free chocolate (I had Loving Earth's salty caramel flavoured chocolate).
